What about Dalglish to Liverpool from Celtic ? One idol replacing another. Ok, so 440,000 was a lot back in 1977, but it’s peanuts considering what he achieved for the club on and off the pitch.

Yup, Forest signed Stuart Pearce as a makeweight. And I don’t recall him being useless and farmed off to Norwich like the guy we actually wanted in the first place.

I can’t believe that Kevin Phillips’ move from Watford to Sunderland has been omitted from the list. He was surely the bargain buy of the 90s.
