When Wednesday played a friendly against Go Ahead Eagles earlier this week their Dutch hosts seemed quite intent on creating plenty of trouble, with bottles thrown at the away supporters and an attempt to storm one of the coaches by about 60 of their ‘fans’. Seems like the Dutch are experiencing the same sort of issues we had 10 or 15 years ago.

re: the Cantona signing, if Francis had not screwed that deal up then it’s highly likely we (Wednesday) would have won the league that year and not bloody Leeds. Wednesday had a great team at the time and this would have been the icing on the cake. How the hell could anyone take Cantona on trial and not offer him a deal ? I still reckon Francis was the start of the long, slow downfall at Hillsborough, he inherited a cracking team from Big Ron and claimed the glory from it, but as soon as he tinkered with it it went belly up.

Seems like Go Ahead Eagles are making a claim to enter the md top 10 – a few days after attacking the Wednesday fans there was trouble against Ajax in the Deventer, highlighted at the link below…

what a great website this is! A just read the 10 most intimidating stadiums in holland and the 10 competeters for the closure of the gap with Hollands top three, and for a Dutchman like me it’s, like we say in Holland, ‘a feast of recognition’. Who are you people?! How can you be so well-informed!? I mean, I presume you’re English..
I once talked to a man in one of the ‘coffeeshops’ of Haarlem, my homecity, who was from England, but wanted to visit as much Dutch footballstadiums as possible, and he told me that in England there was a sleeping giant like Leeds United and I told him that maybe it could be compared with Ado Den Haag. What I’m trying to say is, you people are real animals for football (you know what I mean).
